I sold all of my guitars cause I wasn't using them, now all I've got left is a microphone, a turntable, a pair of cd players and a computer. A new type of inspiration arises when you free yourself from objects you were aimlessly carrying around with you. Keep only what you need, you'll be amazed by how much you can do with just a couple of few things.

Spoiler alert: No, turntables are not instruments, they're machines, machines that combined with other machines produce noise, like a microwave or a blender.
